I was curious enough to get introduced to computers for the first time in 6th standard. But unfortunately, the interaction was limited. Each day, my interest in the computer system was escalating like nothing before. So I decided to take the bull by its horns and started learning about computers on my own. My basics of computers were clear and I had sufficient knowledge to start programming. Most of my classmates were only concerned about the output that the program should generate, but I was always curious to know how exactly this device is capable of understanding my commands.
Books were not enough for me. I craved for practical knowledge. My whole world changed with the introduction of the Internet in my life. It was a ray of hope for me as I could now find the answers to all my questions.
How I started programming and got familiar with various languages
At the beginning of the 10th standard, my career goal was set. I had decided to pursue my Bachelors in Computer Applications. For that reason, I started working on web designing languages. Web designing is full of creativity, and that was the biggest reason why it became my passion. With the passage of time, my ability of creating interactive web pages increased. Perhaps that was the reason why I started teaching web designing concepts to my friends as well. But this wasn’t the end. I got familiar with other development languages such as C, C++, C#, JAVA, and many others to count. In fact, I was lucky enough to learn the basics of Java and MySQL in my school. Moreover, my teachers taught me RDBMS, which is high in demand right now. I learned core Java concepts along with database connectivity.
The difficulties I faced while learning to code
Lack of resources was the biggest issue. Insufficient resources restricted my reach to finding answers to my questions, having clarity about my ideas, and exploring new possibilities in the world of programming. I had to spend a lot of money in various cyber-cafes to quench my curiosity. However, after some time, I got my personal laptop on which I learnt everything about programming and implemented it practically. The completion of my higher secondary education was the biggest turning point of my life, as after that I had enough time for studying and enhancing my skills.
How I started my training with a professional Computer Institution
I was free for three months after my higher secondary education completion, and I wanted to utilize the time in a better way. After getting enrolled in an eminent IT company named Walkwel Technology, my hopes for a better future were high. I got to know about WT labs, the training offshoot of Walkwel, who provide professional training to candidates like me in various technologies. After judging my level of interest and skills, the best Web Designing & Web Development mentor was assigned to me. She was well experienced to teach me every essential aspect of web designing so that I could refine my skills. She set a perfect stage for me to learn, understand, and implement programming on my own. That’s how WT Labs played a vital role in making me an efficient web designer and developer.
What I learnt from this journey?
My journey of becoming a passionate programmer was full of practical knowledge, failures, lessons, and hard work. They say – “Consider programming as an art and all you will end up with is a masterpiece”. It’s a fact that sleeping at 5 AM is way too much easier than waking at 5 AM. So, my small advice is to give your best to learn programming and utilize your skills efficiently.
My mantra in life
Don’t let the excuses stop you from achieving your dream. Work hard today so that you can work smart tomorrow.
Never let your ideas be the ideas. Work on it until you succeed. Nobody gets the best at the first shot. You might fail but never lose hope; because, great things take time to happen.
